Already the verbascum! Here, mine is still only at the leaf stage and I don’t have the flower spike yet.
On the other hand I have exactly the same color of lupin and the same imperata rubra
What a lovely rock rose! I’m trying to find a local source of lupin seed, although I’m not even sure it will grow here. The flowers are beautiful! The Verbascum is also a beauty!
I think that the lupines are doing well this year because we had a wet spring. They are a lot less happy in drought conditions, though I have a couple of native silver bush lupines that I believe will do better in the long, dry summers once established.
Lovely garden! Rock roses are a favorite of mine, although I’m embarrassed to admit that I thought they were all Cistus. Your photo caption brought to my attention that the pink rock rose is actually a Helianthemum. I have one too and didn’t know that! oops. 😉 Do you have gophers there too? If so, do they bother the Verbascum? -lisa
Lovely rock rose. I have some seedlings of Penstemon and Verbascum, I just need to get them past the delicate stage.

Wow, flowers are looking great. I do not know a single one of them. Have to love the name of the rose…simple and to the point.

That’s a very pretty Verbascum and a very fine Lupin. I think my lupins have all snuffed it over the winter.

Too cold for them? Too wet?

I’m not sure what happened really. I may blame the slugs and snails.

Thank you! We do not (so far) have gophers.
